The Porsche 911 (930 G-Series) was offered for the 1974–1989 model years. This page documents 127 equipment codes across 18 body styles for the United States market, grouped into 11 categories. Select a body style at left to see its specific options and standard equipment. “No charge” marks no-cost equipment and “—” marks an option whose period price has not yet been sourced. Showing 1982 prices: “Not offered” marks equipment that wasn’t on that year’s order sheet, which is different from a price we haven’t sourced.
Background
For 1974 the 911 gained the raised, impact-absorbing bumpers that US federal standards required. The change defines the range visually and gives it the name G-series. The body then ran for sixteen model years, longer than any other 911.
The Carrera engine moved from 2.7 litres to 3.0, gave way to the 911 SC from 1978, and became the Carrera 3.2 from 1984. The Turbo arrived for 1975 with a turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six, and gained an intercooler and 3.3 litres in 1978. A Cabriolet joined the coupé and Targa for 1983 — the first open 911 with a folding soft top rather than a removable panel.
Type number 930 is Porsche's own designation, though it is commonly applied to the Turbo alone while G-series is used for the range as a whole. This wiki follows the dataset and treats them as one generation.
